NBC TV Series:’Outsourced’ Terminated

May 18, 2011 | No Comment |

Outsourced caused quite a bit of hullabaloo last summer and now its run has been ended softly. After only a season of being aired, NBC has terminated the series.

Outsourced

Outsourced centers around Todd Dempsey (played by Ben Rappaport) an America sales manager that has the job of overseeing his company’s Indian call center. The other cast members of the sitcom include Diedrich Bader, Anisha Nagaraja, Pippa Black, Parvesh Cheena, Rizwan Manji, Sacha Dhawan and Rebecca Hazelwood.

The show began on a good note and it seemed like NBC will definitely have it for keeps. When the show premiered last September, it posted a rating of 3.6 going by the 18-49 demo with viewers numbering 7.49 million. In the second week, the demo rating fell to 2.8, 22% lower than the previous rating with 5.85 million persons viewing. Going by NBC’s standards, this was still healthy.

As the season progressed, the ratings deteriorated further. It now had a demo rating of 1.4 with only 2.97 million persons viewing. Any major network would definitely find these numbers awful including NBC.

The show’s season current average demo rating stands at 2.1 with viewers numbering 4.55 million. These numbers are not too poor for NBC however it has such a high average rating due to the initial season ratings.

No wonder then that NBC terminated Outsourced after airing for just one season. All the show’s 22 episodes have aired.
